Krista Crittenden

Owner / Director

  • Krista Crittenden (Grabher) started playing lacrosse in her hometown of Vero Beach, FL where she played for Vero Beach High School, earning All-American accolades and leading her team to four state championships. She went on to play for The University of Florida women’s lacrosse team. Krista was a four year varsity-letter winner and captain at Florida, which was consistently a top ten program, and made it to either the final four or elite eight each of her years there. She began her career as a midi-attack, and transitioned into a defender, earning Defensive Player of the Week her senior year.  

    Coach Krista graduated from Florida with a degree in English and found her calling in coaching and teaching at Saint Edward’s School in Vero Beach, FL, where she gained experience as a head coach and club lacrosse coach.

    She now lives in Jacksonville, FL with her husband, dog, and baby on the way. She co-owns Dash Lacrosse Club with Jordan Smith and is the Episcopal School of Jacksonville Girls Lacrosse Program Director and head coach.

Katie Cavanaugh

2028 Coach / Recruiting Coordinator / Assistant Director

  • Katie Cavanaugh starting playing lacrosse in her hometown of Annapolis, Maryland at the age of 6. She played lacrosse for St. Mary’s Annapolis High School where she was a three year varsity starter and two time captain. While playing for the Saints she also participated in field hockey, volleyball, and basketball.

    She went on to play Division II lacrosse at Belmont Abbey College. At the Abbey, Katie was named captain her senior year, First Team All- Conference, and Academic All- Conference. Katie graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in business.

    She now lives in Jacksonville Beach and is currently teaching third grade at RPDS. Katie is excited to share her love and passion for lacrosse.

Dan Toole

2025 Coach

  • Dan Toole began his lacrosse career in his hometown of Syracuse, NY picking up a stick in 8th grade and not putting it down since. During his Senior year at East-Syracuse Minoa high school he was Captain, Senior MVP, and named to the All-County and All-State teams. Continuing his lacrosse career in college, DT played at SUNY Cobleskill and LeMoyne College.

    After moving to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL in 1986, he played for the club team The Jacksonville Armadillos from 1988 to 2015. This team won the State Title in 1994 and DT won the State Scoring Title in 1995.
    His love for coaching began by helping start the boy’s Bolles and Nease High School teams. He also coached the Ponte Vedra Predators before they transitioned to Riptide. After having 3 girls, he coached Riptide for 10 years. Not being able to stay far from the game, he now is the Head coach at PV High and coaches wherever needed at Florida Shine. Coach DT is a custom home builder and lives in Ponte Vedra Beach with his wife, Brianne, and 3 girls (Emma ‘23, Lily ‘24, and Lamb ‘25). Coach DT’s love for the game of lacrosse is unparalleled. You will always find him taking any moment available to teach and inspire his players.

Karli Tobin

2025 Coach

  • Karli Tobin (Tobes) started playing lacrosse in Moorestown, New Jersey where she played for Moorestown High School. Karli helped lead her team to their 10th straight state championship her senior year. She went on to play for the inaugural team at Jacksonville University. Karli was a goalie, a 4 year varsity-letter winner and a captain for several years at JU. She earned All Conference awards, player of the week awards, MVP of the conference tournament and All Academic awards.

    Tobes graduated from JU with a Masters in Elementary Education. She is now living in Jacksonville, Florida and teaching at Neptune Beach Elementary. She is also the head coach at Fletcher High School and the director/coach of Beaches Lacrosse.

Lauren Lavarias

2026 Coach

  • Lauren Lavarias was born and raised right here in Jacksonville where she played lacrosse at Bartram Trail High School. At Bartram, the team was District Runner-ups, District Champions, Regional Champions, and State Finalists throughout her time there. With only 3 years of experience she went on to continue her lacrosse career at Belmont Abbey College, which is a small, private, Division II college right outside of the Charlotte, NC area. There at Belmont Abbey, Lauren was a 3-year starter, awarded Academic All-Conference her senior year, and Conference Carolina's Runner-up in 2018.

    Coach Lauren graduated from the Abbey in 2019 with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Business Management. She went on to receive her Masters in Elementary Education from Grand Cayon University in 2022. She now lives in Jacksonville, FL, with her fiance Derek. She is currently teaching VPK at St. Paul’s Catholic School in Jacksonville Beach. All the while continues her passion for lacrosse by coaching at Ponte Vedra High School where she is the JV coach.

Shannon Gilfedder

2027 Coach

  • Shannon Gilfedder began her lacrosse career at Lyman High School where she was a 3x MVP and two-year captain. She also played for RC Elite Lacrosse Club.

    She then went on to play Division 2 lacrosse and Florida Southern where she was first team all South Region and captain, helped lead her team to become a 3x Sunshine State Conference champion, a Division II National Champion (2016) and 2x Division II National Runner-Up (2017, 2018). She graduated summa cum laude in May 2017 with B.S. in Healthcare Administration and earned an M.B.A in 2018

    Coach Shannon is the Episcopal Varsity assistant coach and currently works at Baptist Health System as a Business Analyst.

Molly Brock

2028 Coach

  •  Molly Brock began playing lacrosse in third grade at her local rec club in Rockville, Maryland. She went to St. John's College High School in DC she was a four year varsity member on the lacrosse team while playing club for McElite.

     

    Molly recently graduated from Jacksonville University in 2023 with her Master's in Business Administration and undergrad in Business Analytics and Management. At JU she was on the D1 women's lacrosse team where she won 4 ASUN championships and made four NCAA appearances. Molly is super excited to be a part of the Shine community and coach the talented players!


Jordan Smith

2028 Coach

  • Jordan Smith began her lacrosse career at North Springs High School (Two time state runner up) and for Team Georgia travel lacrosse club.

    Coach Jordan continued her lacrosse career as a starting midfielder at Presbyterian College where she was MVP in 2008, 2009, and 2010. She was named captain her senior year as well as NLC All Academic, All League, and Second Team All-Conference. Post college she was a 2010-2011- US Lacrosse Local 1 Rated Lacrosse Official, she played for the New Zealand National Women's Lacrosse team (2014), and was the St. Peters Assistant Coach, Cambridge, New Zealand (2013-2014),

    She is now the Head JV coach at Episcopal School of Jacksonville (2015-current) and earned the 2017 John Ryan Award - Excellence in Coaching, co-owner of Dash Lacrosse Club.

Megan O’Grady

2030/31 Coach

  • Megan O’Grady started her lacrosse career in Georgetown, MA where she played four years of varsity lacrosse in high school and was captain her senior year. She then moved on to play two years of college lacrosse at the University of New England in Biddeford Maine before moving down to Jacksonville and beginning her coaching career. 

    Here in Jacksonville she will be in her first year as the head coach of Bartram Trail, where she is also an ASL teacher. She has coached various ages and levels for the Grizzlies lacrosse club team.
